Homemade 'health drinks' for kids made from regular kitchen ingredients

Parents are obsessed with providing ‘health drinks’ to kids to boost their development. This crazy demand for a magical health drink is the reason why there are designated aisles in shops and malls for these products. To give the best nourishment to your kid, you can prepare healthy drinks at home too. Creating homemade health drinks for kids using native ingredients is a wonderful way to ensure they receive essential nutrients while avoiding the artificial additives found in many commercial beverages. Here are several recipes using common kitchen ingredients:

Kesar badam milk

To prepare kesar badam milk, you need almonds, saffron, milk, honey. Soak a handful of almonds overnight. Peel them in the morning and blend with a cup of milk until smooth. Add a pinch of saffron soaked in warm milk for flavor and color. Sweeten with honey to taste. Serve chilled.

Haldi doodh

Kids do not like haldi doodh, but if you prepare this way, they will love it. Use turmeric powder, milk, honey, and cinnamon. Heat a cup of milk in a saucepan. Add half a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a pinch of cinnamon. Stir well and simmer for a few minutes. Sweeten with honey and serve warm. Mango lassi

Now that summer season, the season of mango is here, you can give mango lassi to your kid. All you need are ripe mangoes, yogurt, milk, and sugar. Peel and chop ripe mangoes. Blend with yogurt and milk until smooth. Add sugar to taste and blend again. Serve chilled for a refreshing summer drink rich in vitamins and probiotics.

Coconut water smoothie

This easy-to-prepare smoothie requires tender coconut water, ripe bananas, pineapple chunks, and mint leaves. Blend tender coconut water with chopped bananas and pineapple chunks until smooth. Add a few mint leaves for freshness. This hydrating smoothie is packed with electrolytes and vitamins.

Jamun (Indian Black Plum) juice

You need three ingredients to prepare this drink: Jamun, sugar, and water. Wash and deseed fresh jamun. Blend the pulp with water and strain to remove seeds. Add sugar syrup to taste and mix well. Jamun juice is high in antioxidants and can help boost immunity.

Amla (Indian Gooseberry) shikanji

Use amla juice, lemon juice, mint leaves, black salt, sugar, and water. Mix equal parts of freshly squeezed amla and lemon juice. Add chopped mint leaves, a pinch of black salt, and sugar to taste. Dilute with water and stir well. Amla is rich in Vitamin C, promoting overall health and immunity.

Watermelon mint cooler

Watermelon cubes, mint leaves, lime juice, black salt, sugar, and ice cubes are required to prepare this. Blend watermelon cubes with mint leaves and lime juice until smooth. Strain to remove pulp. Add a pinch of black salt and sugar syrup to taste. Serve chilled with ice cubes for a refreshing summer cooler.

Buttermilk with cumin (jeera) and mint

Give your kids this concoction that comprises yogurt, water, roasted cumin powder, mint leaves, and salt. Blend yogurt with water until smooth. Add roasted cumin powder, chopped mint leaves, and salt to taste. Mix well and serve chilled. Buttermilk is excellent for digestion, while cumin and mint add a refreshing flavor.
