“I took this from a vantage point in Soho at the close of day. The cloud detail drew me in and the setting sun did the rest in bringing out definition on the chimneys and other architectural features.” Photograph: Simon
“...and finally the rainbow appeared. After a few tame shots from the Strand I walked along Waterloo Bridge and saw the double rainbow in full glory. Standing at the right point it seamed to arch directly over St Paul's. With not much traffic I figured 'why not add a bit of movement?’. The cyclist screeched to a halt as I took the shot, totally unexpectedly. Brilliant!” Photograph: Simon
“I'd noticed the diversity in skylines over London and found myself on Westminster Bridge one morning after a rainstorm. The storm abated as I waited for a rainbow that didn't come. But the sun shone through the gold bridge lamp dropping a subtle hint of envious green to a bold skyscape.” Photograph: Simon
“This picture was taken while I was filming with Streetwise Opera as a part of their Fables show. Acting has always been a love of mine especially when I get the chance to sing as well.” Photograph: Ken Roberts
“I was talking to a busker and he didn’t want his picture taken but he invited me to play his guitar. I said I couldn’t play so instead we decided to use the clothes he had to create an imaginary busker and have him playing the guitar!” Photograph: Ken Roberts
"I love this picture. It was such a lucky shot. I was so blessed with the crisp winter light. I often pass the Houses of Parliament and had been trying for some time to capture a nice image. Being the seat of government, I am acutely aware of how much potential they have to influence my situation but despite walking past their doors nearly everyday I feel I am not even on their radar." "This picture was taken at a soup run in the grounds of St Giles in the Fields, which is run by the Simon Community. The nickname that we homeless give ourselves is pigeons because whenever somebody appears handing out food we suddenly materialise in huge numbers from every direction! There are loads of soup runs in London. Most of them are quite informal and rushed and you eat standing up but this one is rather nice with a relaxed atmosphere, hot food and urns of tea and coffee that you can help yourself to over a couple of hours" Photograph: Tom
"This is my Alice Through the Looking Glass shot. There was something otherworldly and surreal about the particular arrangement of furniture and accessories. In particular the way it was set back from the double doors and in darkness it looked like a portal through to another dimension. I love looking in furniture shops and seeing the couples choosing the fixtures and fittings for their new home together. It’s such an uplifting and hopeful thing for me." Photograph: Tom
