A homeless man who was tragically found dead in Dublin's Phoenix Park in February was finally laid to rest on Monday morning, nearly two months after the horrific discovery.
Adam Hussen Mosa sadly died in the park on February 18 at around 5:30pm.
Adam, who had been registered with homeless services, was pronounced dead at the scene by Gardai and emergency services after the alarm was raised.
The funeral service, a private gathering which followed COVID-19 practices and guidelines, finally took place for Adam in Dardistown Cemetery this morning at 8:30am.
Speaking about the arrangements, Inner City Helping Homeless CEO and Dublin City Councillor Anthony Flynn said: "The coroner ordered a funeral of the man who lost his life tragically in the Phoenix Park a number of weeks ago.
"We have been engaged with the team at Dublin City Mortuary for a number of weeks in regard to Mr Mosa."
Councillor Flynn added that there is "serious issues" for those looking to access homeless services with a lack of "wrap-around support" available.
He said: "This is obviously a very tragic incident and my thoughts and prayers are with the family and the person who found this man in such sorrowful circumstances.
"The lack of supports, in general, is contributing to a system that is in complete turmoil.
"Deaths within services are on the increase.
"We need an overhaul of the system and those who are vulnerable need to be given the appropriate supports.
"There is a serious lack of empathy and compassion."
