A homeless man from Dublin was forced to leave the capital after being subject to vicious attacks by gangs on the homeless in the city.
The Liberties native had to move to Laois in order to escape the brutal targeting.
But, in an unfortunate turn of events, he has been advised to go back to the capital to avail of homeless services.
David, 54, has said that all he wants is a fresh start but he is afraid that he will have to leave Hynds Square and Laois in general.

He told Midlands 103 in an interview that nothing will change if he has to return to Dublin.
David said: "I was living on the streets of Dublin. But it's started to become a bit mad, a bit hectic.
"You have a load of gangs picking on the homeless up there.

"They tried to come to me and bully me and I just had enough of them."
David said that because he was from a big family of 14, he had to leave his house when he was just a child.
"I've been on the streets [on and off] since 11 and it's still no better. I was sleeping on cardboards back then and it's still the same."

The Liberties man is hoping to get some sort of accommodation in Laois but has been met with terrible news.
"I got in touch with a Sinn Fein councillor and I was told that I'd have to go back to Dublin to be in with a chance," he said.
That is something that the Dubliner does not want to happen adding "the people here are very welcoming, I want to stay".

He has been staying in Laois since the start of March and the local council has said that it is doing everything it can to facilitate those in need of help like David.
The local authority added that it interviews every person who presents themselves to them to determine if it can help.
