A couple claim they have been forced to live in their car for over a month, washing in the sea and with little to eat.
Jade Wass, 26, and Jud Lennon Day, 33, claim they have had to resort to begging for money while they sleep and eat in their Ford Focus.
The pair made the decision to relocate to Birmingham from Middlesbrough about four months ago but “weren’t settling” and decided to move back to Teesside, GazetteLive reports.
The mum and dad-of-two have been living out of the car since driving back in September.
At night they park the vehicle on Redcar seafront and recline their seats back to sleep.

Jade said: “We haven't had access to water to have a wash or go to the toilet, or nothing.
“We have human rights. We are vulnerable and have mental health problems.
"We have to open the car door and go to the toilet outside. We’ve got no shower so are just getting changed and not washed.”
The couple has also said they've washed in the sea despite the "freezing" temperatures.
They have two children, aged six and three, who live with Jade’s parents.

They previously lived in North Ormesby, in properties provided by Middlesbrough Council, for the past eight years.
Jud added: “We’re having to s*** and p*** outside, we’ve got no facility to water, no facility to a toilet or a fridge to keep our food fresh.
“We’re having to eat meat that’s been in the heat in the car and it’s been tasting horrible.”
The couple claim they have had “had to sell things to get food” and businesses have given them their leftovers.

They’ve “rationed out” food by sometimes only eating one sandwich per day.
Jade said: "Sometimes we haven’t been eating at all."
Jud also said they resorted to begging on the streets for food, money and hot water.
The couple says they have been "driving all over", claiming to have spent between £20 and £30 on fuel each day.
Jade and Jud left Birmingham thinking they had ended their tenancy agreement in their supported accommodation.
They “upped and moved” back Middlesbrough expecting to be housed but it is not clear if the tenancy with Birmingham Council is still active.

Birmingham Council could not confirm if the accommodation is still available in the city.
A council spokesman added: "If they return to Birmingham our housing solutions service will assess their circumstances and determine in what way they may be assisted."
The couple claim “a referral has been sent” to Middlesbrough Council but the authority declined to comment.
