A homeless Dublin charity are holding a fitting tribute for a father-of-two who was stabbed to death in south Dublin last week.
Derek Reddin, 31, was tragically killed following an altercation on Loughlinstown Drive at around 12:30am on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services and Gardai rushed to the scene but Mr Reddin was pronounced dead.
A charity that was very close to the 31-year-old's heart and whom he had helped out on various occasions 'You're Not Alone' have decided to commemorate his life in a special way.
You're Not Alone bring homeless people together two evenings a week in Dublin giving them hot and cold food and drinks and home made stew and soup.
They said: "Friday night at the start of our soup run at half 7 we will be letting off some white balloons and lighting some candles in memory of Derek Reddin.
"He was a member of our group and our friend so if anyone would like to come along please do. He will be missed by all, RIP Derek.
Two men in their 30s were arrested and detained in Shankill Garda Station following the incident and an appeal for witnesses was also issued by gardai.
