Homeless charity gifted new €30,000 van so they can help most vulnerable

A homeless charity, whose outreach teams walk the streets on a nightly basis, have been gifted a E30,000 van to help them carry out their incredible voluntary work.

The Feed Our Homeless charity picked up their brand new Nissan NV300 van recently, which was kindly donated by the Windsor MotorMall dealership in Finglas in Dublin.

The sparkling vehicle will be used by the Dublin organisation to pick up much-needed supplies and donations and transport them around the city.

Tony Walsh, the founder and chief executive of Feed Our Homeless, which engages with over 100 rough sleepers every night and delivers food across the city, said: “The van will make a massive difference to carry out our operations.

"We had another van from Renault in Belgard but the way the system works is they give us the vans for two or three years and then they give another charity a chance.

"We were down a van basically to deliver our food hampers to families and the elderly because the other two vans were for outreach services.

"I'd like to thank [sales manager] Niall O'Kelly and all the staff at Windsor MotorMall for their fantastic support.

"Windsor MotorMall donated the van for three years and they're also going to help the charity in terms of sleep-outs and fundraisers within the organisation.

"This new van will certainly make a difference in helping to ensure our services continue to operate 365 days a year across our communities and help those who are most in need."
