Homeless animals in Glasgow in desperate need of blankets

The Scottish SPCA is appealing to animal lovers to donate blankets for animals in its Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

The charity’s centre in Glasgow has already cared for over 1,200 animals this year.

Centre manager Anna O’Donnell said, “We’re struggling to keep up with the demand for blankets at the moment. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic we are closed to the public but we can accept donations sent directly to us from Amazon or any other online retailer with a delivery service.

“We can also accept donations of new items via the donation bins outside the centre. Second hand blankets, towels and sheets are also welcome as long as they are clean, laundered and bagged up before being left in the donations bin.

“We ask that people do not hand in duvets or pillows as we find our animals can easily tear these apart. “We understand that times are tough for everyone but if anyone can help with blankets for the animals we would appreciate anything that people can spare.”

Donations can be sent via Amazon Wishlist HERE or other any other retailer who offers a direct delivery service.
