Homecoming dates revealed for Dublin's five-in-a-row heroes

Fans will have to wait two weeks for the homecoming of Dublin's five-in-a-row heroes.

The Dubs became the first county to win five successive All-Ireland titles with a 1-18 to 0-15 victory over Kerry at Croke Park on Saturday.

But the traditional opportunity for fans to celebrate with their heroes has been delayed to Sunday September 29.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Paul McAuliffe announced the news on Twitter, saying: "What a weekend for Dublin!

"To celebrate with Dublin Ladies and Dublin men, a special, free homecoming will be held Sunday 29th Sept from 1.30pm-4.30pm in Merrion Square.

"Come out and celebrate two amazing teams"

The homecoming has also been moved away from Smithfield where it has been in recent years to Merrion Square in the capital.

The afternoon event will take place from 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM and will also be a chance for fans to greet the victorious Dublin ladies team who made it three All-Ireland crowns on the spin with a win over Galway today.
