Home Under the Hammer fans rush to support Martin Roberts after devastating loss

Homes Under the Hammer fans have rushed to to support host Martin Roberts after he took to social media to share some devastating news.

The Homes Under The Hammer presenter uploaded a video as he struggled to hold back the tears. On the Instagram video, he sadly announced that his father had died.

Martin, 59, told how his dad was 90 when he passed away this week, adding that losing a parent is "something we all have to deal with", the Mirror reports.

The presenter said: "So I don't know if I should really be posting this video or not but, I guess people deal with things in different ways. This is a very private thing but I kind of just need to surround myself with as many people as I can who care right now.

"My dad died yesterday. He was 90 and he had a great life and he died peacefully, he died at home and he wasn't in pain so that's great but it doesn't... well it does help but it doesn't help right now.

"The loss of a parent is something we all have to deal with and there's much worse losses I know, the loss of a child and stuff like that. But right now I feel really alone and horrible."

As tears fell down his face, Martin added: "So any words you've got would be appreciated. I don't even know if I'll post this but... anyway. Thank you for being there anyway."

Martin's friends and fans flocked to the comments section to write messages of support.

Blackpool's Christine McGuinness replied: "Sending love. Thinking of you and your family."

Lucy Alexander said: "Very difficult to watch you in pain - I’m glad you are expressing it though. You have amazing memories. I know how close you were to your Dad. He’s with your mum now."

And another fan said: "I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Sending you a cuddle and much love to all of your dad's family and friends."
