Home invasion: masked offender assaults man, flees scene

POLICE are hunting a masked offender after a man was injured in a home invasion in the Hunter Region.

About 7.30pm Tuesday a man and woman were inside a house on O'Hearn Street, Tenambit when a man wearing a balaclava forced entry through the rear door.

The offender demanded money from a male occupant, aged 48, before he was physically assaulted on numerous occasions.

The unknown man is described as being aged in his early 20s, about 160cm tall, of medium build with brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black balaclava, dark coloured clothing and black shoes.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has mobile phone footage, is urged to call Port Stephens-Hunter Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
