Former Black and Lizars boss Michelle Le Prevost has been appointed as managing director of home sight tests firm Visioncall.

She will lead the firm's UK-wide operations providig eye care for people who are unable to get to an optician's shop. Her appointment means director Brian McGuire will be able to focus on innovation with the firm's new technology platform and seek new growth opportunities.

Visioncall was founded in 1994 and has its headquarters in Cambuslang and offices across Britain.

McGuire said: "Graeme Manson and I have looked long and hard as to how we now execute the next significant growth phase of the group and believe that Michelle has the perfect credentials and people-based attributes to achieve our vision."

Most recently, Le Prevost has been director of Assurgo Associates, a business she founded to provide a business development resource for healthcare providers.

Le Prevost, who is a Women's Enterprise Scotland mentor, said: “I am both proud and excited to be joining Visioncall in the newly created role of managing director. Throughout my induction period I have been hugely impressed with the caring values brought to life every day by our hardworking teams, both office-based and in the field.

"Domiciliary optics is a challenging but highly rewarding vocation enabling vulnerable and isolated patients to access eye care services, improving both their sight and their quality of life."
