Name: Celtic Quest Coasteering
Based: Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire

Celtic Quest was established in 2009 with the dream of introducing coasteering to the nervous masses. It allows people, who aren’t necessarily extreme enthusiasts, to access the Pembrokeshire coast, taking part in an adrenaline activity at their own level and speed. Our guides take participants to the edge, be that a 2ft jump into a calm glassy sea or a 45ft jump into a boiling turmoil of waves. Every adventure is tailored to the expectations and abilities of the group, with ages ranging from eight to 76.
Often described as extreme rock-pooling, coasteering involves exploring a stretch of coastline in the zone where sea meets land. Scramble climbing, exploring sea caves, rock hopping, adventure swimming, cliff jumping and more. Arguably, the most fun you can have in a wetsuit.
Starting out as one-woman and a van taking eight people per session, we can now accommodate up to 100 people per day and maintain the standard of service clients have come to expect.
Home is where the marketing and sales dept is (laptop in my kitchen) and where the custom-built shed for rinsing and storing all the wetsuits and safety kit is. My mum mans the phone while we’re in the sea and my dad takes care of maintenance. We have won a number of business and marketing awards including ‘Best Visitor Experience in Wales’ at the National Tourism Awards 2013, and we’ve just had word that we’re finalists for the UK Customer Satisfaction Awards 2015.
