Being a home-based business we make use of the many modern technical tools available. In fact, Internet Affiliation wouldn’t exist without the web. We run a few websites promoting holidays, and with the growth of the internet in the last few years we’ve found our niche in the online holiday market.
Many of the tools we need to keep our business running efficiently are available online. We use the KashFlow accounting software to keep a track on purchases and sales, and this hosted package also allows our accountants to log in and keep an eye on things.
There are also plenty of free tools which we make full use of, including Google Docs for sharing documents, DropBox for file sharing, and GIMP for our image processing needs.
All our websites are run from a web hosting provider, so we don’t need a dining room full of computer servers to keep things running.
The increase in the use of the internet has been the making of our business, with the boom in cloud computing over the last 12 months – which means storing files on a central computer server away from the home/office – helping us keep things running efficiently and allowing us to work anywhere. This can be handy when something goes wrong when we’re on holiday.
