Since we started our company less than a year ago, we’ve had to use our house as a makeshift storage, packaging and office area. This included running every aspect of the business such as marketing from home.
When dealing with large international suppliers we often redesigned the living room to make it look like a working office so that we would be taken more seriously when trying to get the best price before placing an order.
When we starting rehearsing the routines for our fitness DVD, this was also done in my house or garden to save money on gym costs. The coconut oil side of our business is growing at a rapid speed, meaning we needed to store more than 1,000 jars of coconut oil in the house, package the online sales at home and manually take it to the post office to be delivered to customers.
