We’re an accountancy practice formed by two mums who left corporate careers to start a family-friendly business, to achieve the work life balance we strived for.
Early preparation meant we had a business plan so we were ready for incoming business and we smashed our 12-month target in nine months.
Working from home on laptops allowed us to keep costs low, and as our business grew we created a flexible work environment using cloud-based technology and a secure remote desktop solution. Clients love our cloud-based collaborative approach as we’re well placed to support them throughout the year rather than just at year end.
We visit clients at a location that suits them to save them the hassle of coming to us, and it’s business as usual whether we’re at our desks, the kitchen table or poolside while the children are in swimming lessons.
We make the most of web-based tools or apps whether we’re working at 6am or 10pm, scheduling marketing via Hootsuite or creating a Facebook campaign – this is all work that can be done without clients knowing we’re working unusual hours to fit in with family life.
We hope we’re passing on our entrepreneurial traits by demonstrating a strong work ethic – our innovative approach has given us the ability to keep the little people happy as well as the big ones.
