Liza Kate Mirelman, co-founder of PostBoxed, explains why the business should win the home business category of the Guardian Small Business Showcase competition.

PostBoxed is an online gift shop and gift service selling high-quality, hand-wrapped gifts that are all letterbox friendly. Launched this September, we run the business from our home in Queen’s Park, London.

If you send a gift with PostBoxed, you won’t need to worry about your recipient receiving it. There will be no more missed deliveries and no more waiting in for packages, with all gifts sent directly through letterboxes.

At PostBoxed, we believe in quality and have carefully curated the range of gifts we offer, only selling items that we would buy ourselves; from organic baby bodysuits to artisan leather wallets and made in the UK jewellery. We stock well-known brands such as Moleskine and Ted Baker as well as independent, local designers like Peckham Rye and Sloane Stationery.

All gifts are gift-wrapped, packaged and sent from our office (our home), giving us the quality control and prompt dispatching that is often lacking in big drop-shipping companies.

All entries which meet the competition criteria are published and our judging panel select a shortlist of the top three for each category. Winners are announced at an awards ceremony in summer 2016.
