Home Bargains worker spills on the rudest customers and most common complaint

Every shop has its little quirks and behind the scenes secrets - including the much-loved chain Home Bargains.

The store - beloved by many - is often in the news for one of its quirky new products, or accidentally rude items.

Now an employee has spilled the beans on what the job is really like - and her account has gone viral on TikTok.

Lib Taylor, from Sheffield, uploaded a video to TikTok giving an honest account of what it's like to work at the national chain.

She left people in stitches after sharing the one thing all customers say - and exposed the rude shoppers that need to learn some manners.

Her video has been viewed more than 500,000 times and racked up thousands of comments since being uploaded less than a day ago.

Her main takeaways include the shocking fact that more people try to shoplift than you think.

That follows former employee Grace Payne - who revealed that the most nicked item was condoms, but chocolate and clothes were also coveted often.

And she claimed workers watched a film on their first day, filled with light-fingered customers who were banned from the store.

Grace told The Sun: “I was sitting down in a room and was watching a slideshow of all sorts from mums to teens and even grannies.

“If we spotted them we had to run to the front of the story and press a button.

“They included ‘flower lady’ who always had massive flowers in her hair, a mum who would sneakily put things in her basket and other people as well - all nicking things.

“I didn’t know what I was letting myself in for.”

Lib also explains in her video that the behaviour of elderly shoppers surprised her.

She claimed that some customers belonging to the older generation were much ruder than the younger generation.

And naturally, nearly every shopper that came in had the same line - 'I only came in for one thing.'

According to viewers who had also worked at the store, it seems that classic excuse was trotted out constantly.

Her video left people in stitches - with lots of fellow employees piping up to share their stories.

"I work in Home Bargains, this is sooooo true," commented one.

Another added: "And that your uniform will be the brightest thing in the wardrobe!"
