Home Bargains to close on Boxing Day to give staff a break over Christmas

Home Bargains has confirmed it will be giving staff an extra day off this festive season.

The discount retailer will be closed on Boxing Day, extending the Christmas cheer for its thousands of staff, reports Hull Live.

With more than 500 stores across the UK and around 22,000 employees, will definitely be making someone’s Christmas wish come true.

In a post on Instagram and Twitter, Home Bargains said: “To all our staff: Thank you for all your hard work once again this year.

“All our stores will be closed on Boxing Day to ensure you are able to spend time with your friends and family.”

The post also thanked its customers and announced Home Bargains stores across the UK would reopen on December 27.

This is not the first time the chain has made the generous gesture as Home Bargains closed its doors on Boxing Day last year too.

All employees will be paid as the “day off” will not be taken out of their holiday allowance.

Home Bargains stores will be open on Christmas Eve and will close for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
