Home Bargains reveals the real reason behind the red star stickers on price tags

Home Bargains has officially confirmed the real meaning behind those red star stickers on their labels - and it may be a surprise for some.

The budget store is known for providing its own yellow sticker discounts known as "Star Buys", but the recent inclusion of a red label with a gold sticker on a few of them has left some shoppers stumped.

If you've ever spotted the sticker yourself and wondered what it means, then the mystery is over. Home Bargains has just taken to social media to confirm the stars represent the top-selling products in the shop.

The mystery was solved after the high street shop shared a TikTok by the 'fun fact' sharing account @ommelyla.

Home Bargains simply reshared the video on Instagram and wrote: "Now you know."

In the video, which has since been viewed over 40,000 times, one person explains: "Have you ever been to Home Bargains and noticed this red sticker on the prices and wondered if it is a discount or manager special? Well, it's not."

Shoppers have recently tried to guess the reason behind the labels themselves, with some rumours on social media claiming that it was a special offer for managers or staff.

Not quite - it looks like the labels are in fact meant for staff members, but only to remind them to restock Home Bargains' bestsellers.

The video further explains this by adding: "It's actually signage for staff. It is to highlight the most popular/bestselling products in the shop.

"It's so, once the shelf is empty, they leave the price out because it should be restocked shortly and customers know that it's there."

Quite a few shoppers were left stunned by the revelation, after one said: "Never knew this."

While a second added: "Wish I knew that when I worked there. Full shift aswell."
