A new Home Bargains store is set to open in Glasgow this weekend following a £1 million investment.
The new shop will open in Summerston Retail Park, bringing 57 jobs to the area.
Doors to the latest Home Bargains, which includes a fresh and frozen food section, are scheduled to open at 8am on July 3.
The store will also be donating £2,000 to local charity Sunshine Wishes Children's Charity, which was set up in 2016 to grant wishes for sick and terminally ill children, children with additional needs as well as families from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Since March 2020, however, the charity’s main focus has been to supply essential food and care parcels to families most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The new Glasgow store will join over 500 outlets across the UK.
Sarah-Louise Smith, the new Glasgow store manager, said: “It’s a huge honour to be opening our new Glasgow store this weekend and something that I’m exceptionally proud of.
“Having started my Home Bargains journey just over a year ago, it’s exciting to be in this position and to be launching the new Summerston Retail Park store alongside such a fantastic team.”
