Home Bargains is selling a weighted blanket for £30 to help you fall asleep

Home Bargains is selling weighted blankets for a fraction of the price of other brands.

Designed to help you feel snug and secure, as well as fall asleep faster, weighted blankets can cost well over £100, with the John Lewis version coming in at between £60 and £110 .

Which is why shoppers were getting rather exicted after spotting one at Home Bargains for just £30.

Posting on the Extreme Couponing & Bargains UK Facebook Group, one woman wrote: “Weighted Blanket from Home Bargains, £30.

"These are over £100 on Amazon. Some people might say it’s 'too cheap' but it will hopefully do the job.”

More than 1,000 people have liked the post, with thousands of comments coming in from fellow shoppers.

“I need this mate thank you sooooooo much,” one wrote.

Another added: “I definitely need one of these then I won’t have to have 4 blankets on my bed.”

“I need one of these ASAP” wrote a third.

The original poster did have a warning though.

“Please be aware, this is NOT intended for children - Please do your homework if you are wanting one for a child as the blanket needs to be one 10th of the child’s body weight,” she said.

The idea behind the blankets is that the added weight creates a soft pressure all over your body - "to create a reassuringly cosy feel and even pressure across your body", John Lewis explains in the description if its version.

"We recommend users select a blanket weight that is around 10% of their body weight. Use under adult supervision," it adds.
