Home Bargains finally opens its new £5m Speke superstore

Discount retailer Home Bargains has finally opened its massive new Speke store - one of the largest yet.

The Liverpool retailer, opened the store this morning, promising to offer shoppers a range of products from homeware to fresh and frozen food.

The 25,000 sq ft will become a flagship for Home Bargains meaning it will be among the first to get its latest collections and limited edition products.

Home Bargains has invested around £5m into the new site, which marks the first opening in the area.

The opening also helped create around 50 new jobs.

Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: "We’re thrilled to be launching our first store in Speke and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors."

"Boulevard Retail Park will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices."

The ECHO has been closely following the opening of this store, with work beginning in May and an official opening date confirmed last month - although planning for the store began more than one year ago.
