Home Bargains doubling size of Holyhead store with new mega-unit

Home Bargains is set to open its massive new Anglesey store later this year in a relocation project.

The discount brand has had a shop on the Penrhos Retail Estate in Holyhead since 2016 - taking over the former Store Twenty One unit.

But work is now underway to build a new mega-store as part of an extension of the retail park.

It is around double the size of the existing 10,000 sq ft store.

Work is well underway on the giant new unit and Home Bargains said the store is due to open this year, with December the current target date.

It will leave the existing unit once that store opens.

There are plans for Aldi to then move into that unit at a later date in a move that will create 40 jobs.

TJ Morris, the company behind Home Bargains, was established over 40 years ago by Tom Morris.

Since opening his first store in Liverpool, is has become one of the biggest privately owned companies in the UK.

It now has over 500 stores and employs more than 22,000 staff.
