Home Bargains called out by parents over sweets which look like Lego

Home Bargains has come under criticism from some parents for selling gummy sweets which can be stacked like Lego blocks.

MEN reports that whilst the sweets have no affiliation with Lego, the sweets have left some parents concerned children may place plastic toys in their mouths believing they are sweets.

The 79p sweets were shared in a Facebook group and parents were quick to comment with their concerns.

"Wow sweets that look like Lego great idea may as well give them the Lego blocks. Some people just have no common sense," said one angry Facebook user.

Somebody else added: "Yay great another thing my child will put in his mouth thinking its edible great idea. THANKS."

"This is a stupid idea!" slammed another annoyed parent.

However, somebody else argued: "Those children too young to understand the difference between these and actual Lego are probably too young to be eating sweets anyway."

Many parents do like the idea, though, and think the sweets look like they could be a lot of fun.

"That's pretty awesome!" said one.

[My little one] would love those not sure I'd like the sticky fingers though," joked somebody else.

A third fan wrote: "My grandson Scott loves Lego!! These will be a nice treat."

A spokesperson for Home Bargains declined to comment when contacted by Manchester Evening News.

The MEN also approached Amos Sweets for comment.
