Today marks the first of two May bank holidays with this one being moved from a Monday to a Friday to help celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
While this means a day off work, or a day in the garden for many of us it does also mean the opening hours of shops will change.
Many retailers are running reduced hours today - similar to previous bank holidays. Although we're aware this year's May bank holiday feels very different due to the current circumstances.
For those who are planning on visiting budget stores such as Home Bargains and B&M or maybe DIY store B&Q then we've taken a look at what time stores open and close today.
It's worth remembering shopping trips should still only be made when you need to make essential purchases, but non-essential items can now be bought during these outings. And many stores still have strict rules in place, which you can view here.
Home Bargains
Opening times vary. Stores in the city centre including Lord Street and St John’s are open from 10am to 5pm.
Stores at Wavertree retail park and Broad Lane in Norris Green are open 9am to 6pm.
Aigburth Road and Prescot Road stores are open 8am to 6pm. Stores in Penny Lane Centre, Bootle Strand and County Road, Walton are open 8.30am to 6pm.

Opening time differ between stores but B&M's Edge Lane and Great Home Street stores will be open from 8am-8pm today.
Its County Road store is open from 8.30am-5.30pm today.
