With England back in lockdown only a small number of retailers remain open while hundreds are now closed.
The new tougher measures which came into force at 00:01 are set to last until December 2.
According to the Government's website, stores which remain open must be "essential". New guidance which was updated on the Government's website on November 3 also lists visiting shops which are still open as an acceptable reason for leaving your home.
It says: "You can leave home to buy things at shops which are open, for instance for food and medicine, or to collect any items - including food or drink - ordered through click-and-collect or as a takeaway, to obtain or deposit money, or to access critical public services."
As well as supermarkets staying open, petrol stations, pet shops and budget stores can keep trading too.
It was confirmed earlier this week Home Bargains and B&M, which are both Liverpool-based companies, would be able to stay open.
Both stores sell a wide range of essential household items as well as medicines and food too.
These are the opening hours for both retailer's Liverpool stores.
