Home and Away's Johnny Ruffo celebrates beating cancer by sharing snap of tumour

Home and Away actor Johnny Ruffo has revealed he is cancer free.

The 31-year-old broke the happy news to fans by sharing two CT scans on Instagram .

One of the images showed a huge tumour on his brain while the other - taken 24 months later - showed how the mass had cleared.

John explained in the caption: "Exactly two years ago versus today, So glad to have beaten this horrible disease.

"Thank you for all the support!" he told fans, adding the hashtags "#F*ck cancer' and '#braincancer."

Johnny is best known for playing Chris Harrington in Australian soap opera Home and Away.

Back in 2017 he underwent surgery to have a tumour removed from his brain.

Speaking out at the time, his agent told fans it was a 'scary and frightening situation' but Johnny was trying his best to remain positive.

Over the last two years Johnny has documented his journey with fans on social media.

Sharing harrowing pictures of his head stapled together, the actor - who first shot to fame on the Australian X Factor - revealed that he'd had to have emergency surgery to remove the tumour after originally going to the doctors with a migraine .

He shared a picture of a huge scar that stretched from his right ear, up and across his forehead.

in the same post, he shared another image of him propped up in a hospital bed, with his head wrapped in bandages.

"Some things in life really put things into perspective, hoping for a positive result, keep me in your thoughts x" he said with a thumbs up.
