Homan Square robbers target pedestrians

Police are looking for a group of people who have been violently robbing pedestrians since last month in Homan Square on the West Side.

In each case, one or more men walked up, beat a victim and took their property, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The hold-ups occurred:

  • At 4:02 p.m. Sept. 1 in the 3600 block of West Flournoy Street;
  • Between 2 and 2:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Lexington Street; and
  • About 2:15 p.m. in the 3500 block of West Flournoy.

In one incident, the suspect was described as a man between 20 and 25 years old, wearing a red T-shirt and a baseball cap, police said. In the other incidents, the victims were robbed by a group of three or four males, with no further descriptions available.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
