Holywood Road Belfast closed in both directions following crash

Police have closed the Holywood Road Belfast in both direction following a crash.

The incident is reported to have happened near the junction of Inverary Avenue.

Diversions are in place.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised that the Holywood Road, Belfast, is closed in both directions due to a road traffic collision. 

"The road is closed at the junction of Inverary Avenue.  Diversions are in place. Please seek an alternative route, if possible."

Two people have been taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 10.29 on Monday 06 January 2020 following reports of a three vehicle RTC at Holywood Road, Ballymisert Belfast.

"NIAS dispatched three Emergency crews and one Rapid Response Paramedic to the scene.

"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two patients have been transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.

"Incident is still ongoing."
