Holy Cross High School inform parents of more coronavirus cases

More people associated with Holy Cross High School in Hamilton have tested positive for coronavirus.

Parents and carers were notified via the school app today (Thursday, October 29) that NHS Lanarkshire’s test and protect team have been carrying out contact tracing following the positive test results.

The individuals are currently self-isolating at home.

The letter from NHS Lanarkshire’s consultant in public health medicine, Dr Femi Oshin, states that a review has been carried out and that “there is no evidence to suggest that there is transmission in the school.”

Dr Oshin continues: “NHS Lanarkshire’s test and protect team have been carrying out contact tracing after individuals at Holy Cross High tested positive for Covid-19.

“The risk to the wider school community is low and the school will remain open as normal.

“We are aware that there will be concern for children, their parents/carers and staff at this time, however, I want to continue to reassure you that South Lanarkshire Council has put in place all the recommended infection prevention and control measures and has a thorough cleaning programme for the school building.”
