Over 120 pupils and staff from Holy Cross High School in Hamilton put their best foot forward in aid of St Andrews Hospice recently.
The students, as well as a group of school staff, took part in a 6k fun run arund the grounds of the school to raise much needed funds for the North Lanarkshire-based Hospice who provide specialist palliative care to people living with life-limiting illnesses.
Together with the sponsorship for the run, the rest of the pupils enjoyed a non-uniform day and made a donation to the hospice for the privilege – as a school managing to raise £3500.
Mrs Angela Duffy, depute head teacher at Holy Cross said: "A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our fun run and to those who donated through either sponsorship or the dress down event.
"The overall winner of the fun run was Ian Benson, who ran 6.6k in 25 minutes.
"Very well done."

The rest of the winners were:

Girls: 1 st Caitlin Duffy, 2 nd Molly O’Donnell, 3 rd Melissa Govan.
Staff: 1 st Mrs Seenan, 2 nd Miss Ferguson, 3 rd Miss Baillie.
