Holt pleased with converted full backs Aaron Taylor-Sinclair and Steve Lawson

Livingston boss Gary Holt has praised his new look full-backs Aaron Taylor-Sinclair and Steve Lawson.

The pair have shone in recent matches with Taylor-Sinclair settling well into life well at Livi, while Togolese international Lawson has earned plaudits for his performances at right-back in the last two games.

Lawson, in his second season at the club, has played as a central midfielder for the Lions but switched to full-back - the position he occupies for Togo - in Livi's games against Hearts and Kilmarnock.

Holt said: "Aaron brings experience and he’s played a lot of first team football at a decent level.

“He’s a wee bit hungry because he’s had that spell without a game and not getting a wage. It’s refreshing to see a boy who wants to come in and work and play and train hard.

“Steven’s taken to playing full-back really well. I think it’s maybe helped him a little bit with the game being in front of him.

“He’s got the energy to get up and down and we’re working positionally with him as well because although we knew he could play there because he plays international football at right-back.

“Does he like it 100 per cent? Probably not. It’s been really pleasing that the pair have fitted into their roles. Maybe with injuries it’s pushed our hand but sometimes that’s what happens."

He added: "Aaron hadn’t played 90 minutes since April and then suddenly he was playing three games in a week.

“I think he really enjoys it and he’s fitted in really well with the boys. He just wants to come in and work and do his best for the team.

“We wants to do his job to the best of his ability every single day.

“With full-time training and full-time games we’ll certainly get more out of him.”
