Holocaust survivor, 91, dies after being knocked down in hit-and-run

A 91-year-old Holocaust surviver died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver.

Gennady Bolotsky was knocked down by a white van as he walked his dog - who was not injured- on Monday, police said.

According to reports, he had survived being hit by a car in the same intersection in Los Angeles, California, 15 years ago.

A $50,000 reward is reportedly being offered for information leading to the arrest of the driver.

Mr Bolotsky had just celebrated his 91st birthday and his family want justice, reports say.

Granddaughter Adriana Bolotsky told NBC Los Angeles : "We're angry, we're devastated.

"We wish you had a human soul to stop and call, and not leave him lying on the ground."

"No one deserves this, especially not my grandpa who came and survived literally everything," she added.

"He was supposed to live to 100 or more," his son, Michael Bolotsky told ABC 7.

"At 91, he had more energy than a person half his life."

Police say the vehicle has been found but the driver is yet to be tracked down.

Widower Mr Bolotosky escaped the Nazi occupation and immigrated to the US from the Ukraine, reports say.
