Hollywood stars who went to school Prince George and Prince Louis will go to

Eton College has an impressive list of former pupils that includes Prime Ministers, foreign dignitaries, members of the Royal Family, Hollywood actors and well-known authors.

Much like Prince William, it is incredibly likely that Prince George and later Prince Louis will follow in his footsteps and attend Eton College at the age of 13.

The famous school charges a whopping £48,501 a year and was set up by King Henry VI in 1440. It counts other royal alumni such as Prince Harry, Prince William of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, as well as Sam and Arthur Chatto.

Eton is famous for their incredible facilities as it has anything their students could possibly want.

In terms of sports, there are approximately 40 football/rugby pitches, a 2km rowing lake, 19 cricket pitches and 50 tennis courts.

As well as their vast number of amenities, the college can count several famous actors as old Etonians - many of whom have spoken out about taking part in school productions and the time they spent there.

From Oscar winners to iconic movie supervillains and from Netflix's The Crown actors to comedy stars, there are several to choose from.

Eddie Redmayne

Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne was in the same year as Prince William when they attended Eton between 1995 and 2000 and have been seen catching up over the years at various events.

The actor previously opened up about his time at the famous school with Prince William.

Speaking on a US chat show in 2018, Eddie revealed: "I always felt a bit sorry for him because basically any school you played, all they wanted to do was tackle Prince William and they could say, 'I tackled Prince William.'"

Eddie went on to admit that Prince William being thrown to the floor was kind of good for him - as it made the match "easier". He added: "So if you were standing next to Prince William, like I was, it was actually quite easy and quite fun."

Tom Hiddleston

Avengers star Tom Hiddleston also went to the famous school near Windsor Castle and has opened up about his experiences there.

Referring to his nickname, he said: "Very soon after I arrived I got the nickname 'Piddle' and the boys made up the rhyme, 'Hiddle Piddle did a widdle in the middle of the night.' My closest friends still call me 'Pid' but it's affectionate now."

During an appearance on the Graham Norton Show, the actor spoke about a school play he was in with Eddie Redmayne.

He told the host: "I was in A Passage to India with Eddie Redmayne, who played the female lead," he revealed. "I on the other hand, played the front leg of the elephant he rode!"

Dominic West

While the school has been spoken about fondly by many of its former pupils, it is clear that actor Dominic West doesn't share the same sentiment.

The star - who recently portrayed Prince Charles in series five of The Crown - has opened up about his experiences of leaving home so young. He told the Radio Times: "It was the worst feeling I have ever had, very similar to the grief when my parents died.

"It’s the same thing really; you think you’ve lost your parents. I learned to bury the emotional effects of that and then I went to drama school and had to dig it all up again."

In 2012, West even described the stigma of attending Eton as "slightly above paedophile". He told the publication: "I live in London so I can be with my family as much as possible, but I'm very proud of coming from Yorkshire.

"When I meet anyone from Sheffield, they look at me sceptically, as if to say, 'You don't come from Yorkshire.'

"But I do. It used to bug me that 'Old Etonian' was the constant prefix to my name, but everyone has to come out from some pigeonhole and that's not a bad one to have to overcome."

Harry Hadden-Paton

You may recognise Harry Hadden-Paton from his roles on TV - from playing Martin Charteris in Netflix's The Crown to starring as Herbert Pelham, The Marquess of Hexham in Downton Abbey.

While the London-born actor's characters have had ties to royalty and the aristocracy on screen, Harry has an enviable connection to Prince William and Prince Harry thanks to his sister's marriage.

In 2009, Harry's sister Alice married Major Nicholas van Cutsem at Wellington Barracks near Buckingham Palace.

The nuptials was attended by everyone from Prince William, Prince Harry and the future Princess of Wales, Kate.
