Hollywood stars blast Mueller report 'whitewash' in Donald Trump

Donald Trump felt the full fury of Hollywood yesterday after he escaped prosecution over claims of Russian interference in his election.

US Attorney General William Barr personally cleared the President despite a report saying he could be guilty of obstructing justice at least 11 times.

It came after a heavily redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s official report was published on Thursday.

Hollywood stars lined up to cry “whitewash” and accuse Mr Trump of corruption.

Josh Gad, voice of the snowman Olaf in the hit Disney movie Frozen, said: “I never knew before today that the Attorney General is a personal defence attorney for the President of the United States. Cool beans.”

Veteran star Mia Farrow echoed: “Just stunning to see the Attorney General in the role of Trump’s personal attorney.”

Con Air star John Cusack said: “Barr = complete whitewash cover-up. A press circus orchestrated by the White House.”

A Fish Called Wanda actress Jamie Lee Curtis quoted a damning section of report: “If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, we are unable to reach that judgment.”

Mr Trump’s alleged reaction to Mueller being appointed two years ago was also revealed.

The report says he exclaimed: “Oh my God, this is terrible. This is the end of my presidency. I’m f***ed.”

Moulin Rouge actor John Leguizamo tweeted: “If only” then added: “Will Trump act presidential and put country above himself and resign, or more of the same corruption?”

TV actress Alyssa Milano said of the President’s alleged outburst: “It is my opinion that an innocent man wouldn’t say the below words out loud.”

Their attacks came as Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee subpoenaed the Justice Department for an unredacted version of the report and its documents.

This led the President, who is in Florida for Easter, to launch a blistering attack on the “Crazy Mueller Report.”

He said parts of it were “fabricated” and “total bulls**t” and denied making any of the embarrassing statements.
