NEW DELHI: As Carlos Alcaraz triumphed in a five-set epic against defending champion Novak Djokovic for his maiden Wimbledon title, the world saw a reign coming to an end and the beginning of a new era. Pulling off a thrilling comeback, Alcaraz proved he's the real deal as Djokovic finally met his match.

Alcaraz, 16 years junior to Djokovic, completed a remarkable 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 victory to become the youngest winner since Boris Becker in 1986 and only the third Spanish man to win the title after Manuel Santana and Rafa Nadal.
