Two leading cast members have been revealed for new Netflix film, The School for Good and Evil, which is set to start filming in Belfast this year.
The film is based on a book series by Somain Chainani. It follows a group of girls and boys who are are trained to become fairytale-like heroes and villains.
Over the weekend, film director Paul Feig announced that Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road, Atomic Blonde) and Kerry Washington (Django Unchained) had joined the cast.
He said in a tweet: "I know what school I’m applying to! So thrilled to welcome Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington to the School for Good and Evil! Everyone, prepare to get schooled!"
Theron is set to take on the role of Lady Leonaro Lesso, the Dean of Evil, while Washington will play her best friend, Clarissa Dovey, the Dean of Good.
The new film from streaming giant Netflix will be shot at Belfast Harbour Studio s.
Netflix will use the full 125,000 sq ft of studio, workshop and office space for what will be its first film where the bulk of the production will be shot in Northern Ireland.
The director, who is also known for directing A Simple Favor, Ghostbusters, and Spy, previously said he was "absolutely thrilled" to get to shoot the movie in Belfast.
"This is a challenging film to mount and their facilities offer us everything we need and so much more for a production of this size," he said.
"They have also been wonderful to work with and we can’t thank them and Northern Ireland Screen enough for all their support and enthusiasm. They’ve been all Good and no Evil!"
