Hollywood star Patrick Dempsey on his final and most 'impactful' day in Ireland

Hollywood star Patrick Dempsey revealed he spent his final day in Ireland visiting a cancer support centre.

From getting fitted for a Louis Copeland suit in Dublin to taking in more of Ireland’s tourist attractions and famous landscapes than many have in their lifetime living here, the star has made the most of his summer while filming Disney's Disenchanted.

But the Grey’s Anatomy star said his most ‘impactful’ visit came on his final day in the country this week, as he stopped by the Purple House Cancer Support Centre in Bray.

Taking to Instagram, Patrick wrote: "My final and quite possibly most impactful day in Ireland. Visiting the Purple House cancer support centre.

"Grateful for the work they do each and everyday to support those affected by cancer. Felt very at home here."

The staff at the Purple House said they were over the moon to welcome the star, saying: "We were delighted to welcome Patrick Dempsey to Purple House today and to share information on how both Purple House (Ireland) and @dempsey_center (America) support Cancer patients and their families.

"Until next time Patrick!”

Dempsey has been in Ireland filming the sequel to his Disney hit Enchanted all summer, alongside flame haired actress Amy Adams and a star studded cast.

Since landing in May, he has wasted no time in touring the length and breadth of the country, from making friends with donkeys and sheep in Northern Ireland to climbing mountains in Wicklow.

He also took a trip West to take in the beauty of the Aran Islands, visiting Inis Meáin on his travels.

But as filming came to an end this week, the stars were spotted making the most of their final few days in Dublin before heading home.

McDreamy paid a flying visit to Trinity College whilst Amy stopped off to visit the The Book of Kells with her husband Darren Le Gallo.

The film's director Adam Shankman revealed that the movie completed production this week.

Sharing a picture of himself and Adams in a field, he wrote, "Myself and Giselle…errrr….@amyadams would just like to say: And that’s a wrap. #Disenchanted Coming to you in #2022"
