A HOLLYWOOD star has made a "surprise" donation to a Scottish charity while shooting a new film in the Highlands.

The trust's centre is located at the foot of Ben Nevis, and is run by volunteers from the local community.

It is equipped with a classroom, a meeting room, a kitchen, toilets and reception area.

The trust said: "We are delighted to have received a £2000 donation from Russell Crowe.

"We sincerely thank Russell for his kind donation to our charity."

Crowe has teased several filming locations from the Highlander film on social media, leaving fans eager for the release of the film, which is expected to come out next year.
