May 15--Television and film producer Dyson Lovell has listed his longtime home in Hollywood Hills West for sale at $1.995 million.
Lovell purchased the Midcentury home, built in the 1950s, in 1979 and later commissioned Francisco Kripacz, a partner of Arthur Erickson Architects, to renovate the property.
Entered through a gated driveway off of Sunset Plaza Drive, the 1,864 square feet of living space has a contemporary vibe with clean lines, a stainless steel-clad kitchen and a living/dining room with a wall fireplace.
The master suite, complete with sitting area, fireplace and private balcony, occupies the second floor and offers city views. A second bedroom en suite/office resides on the main level.
Walls of glass open to a patio set above a circular pool and hedged by tall palms and other tropical flora. A detached writer's cabin sits adjacent to the main house.
Lovell had leased out the property in recent years for as much as $7,500 a month. He paid $170,000 for the home in 1979.

Lovell, 74, began his career as an actor, appearing in the Franco Zeffirelli's "Romeo and Juliet" (1968) and a number of television roles. He later produced Zeffirelli's "The Champ" (1979), "Endless Love" (1981) and "Hamlet" (1990) as well as Francis Ford Coppola's "The Cotton Club" (1984).
Among his television credits as a producer is the acclaimed miniseries "Lonesome Dove" (1989).
