Hollywood actors refusing to work with Israeli companies ‘implicated in genocide’

  • Over 1,300 film workers, including Olivia Colman, Javier Bardem, and Aimee Lou Wood, have signed a pledge refusing to work with Israeli film institutions.
  • The Film Workers For Palestine group states their refusal is due to these institutions being "implicated in genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people".
  • Signatories, who also include Susan Sarandon and Mark Ruffalo, cite the International Court of Justice's ruling on a plausible risk of genocide in Gaza.
  • The pledge is inspired by Filmmakers United Against Apartheid and calls for the international film industry to end complicity in the oppression of Palestinians.
  • The declaration clarifies that it prohibits working with specific Israeli institutions, such as festivals and production companies, but not with Israeli individuals.
