Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney has fallen in love with Wales at Euro 2020 and we can't blame him

We all know falling in love with Wales and everything it has to offer is an easy thing to do.

Gorgeous landscapes, welcoming people, a beautiful language, and much more.

Of course, there's also our sporting pedigree on the world stage, where Wales shines often with 'underdog' status.

That is the case so far in Euro 2020, with Wales having all but secured their spot in the knockout stages with a thrilling, nerve-shredding 2-0 win over Turkey.

The match had fans on the edge of their seats, hearts in mouths and no fingernails left - but it captured the imagination of the nation.

It seems Hollywood actor and Wrexham FC co-owner Rob McElhenney is no different.

Creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the 44-year-old American director and producer has a special interest in Welsh football exploits, having become co-owner of Wrexham FC with Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds back in February.

But it seems he has a new team to cheer on on the international stage.

"This time last year I rarely watched football and I knew very little about Wales," he wrote on Twitter.

"Today [Wales v Turkey] I am glued to the TV and screaming Wales Forever.

"The power of sport is immense. The power of Wales is poetic."

Indeed it is.

McElhenney and Reynolds invested £2million in the National League club after taking control of the club from the Wrexham Supporters' Trust.

They have both been using their A-list platforms to spread the word about Wrexham FC, sending shirts to superstars like David Beckham and promoting the club wherever they go, and are both looking forward to travelling to Wales.
