Hollyoaks star says dramatic new McQueen storyline will 'make or break' them

Hollyoaks star Bethannie Hare has teased the McQueen family's big new storyline, set to air later this year.

The actress joined the show as the latest member of the family Cher McQueen in May, with her being the secret daughter of Sylver.

The Channel 4 soap celebrates its 25th anniversary in October, with a series of big storylines planned to mark the occasion.

One family set to take centre stage is the McQueens, amid the returns of both Cleo and Theresa.

Their huge storyline has not yet been confirmed, but actress Bethannie spoke exclusively to Mirror online about what is to come.

Teasing "big" scenes, she revealed that whatever happens could "make or break" the much-loved family.

She told us: "I know - I am very excited and so honoured to be in Hollyoaks at this special time.

"So all the McQueens are involved, and I think what I can say is that it will either make us or break us.

"It’s going to be BIG and there will definitely be lots of drama for ALL of the McQueens!"

She added of the huge milestone, and the looming flashforward content: "I would say that you need to expect anything and literally anything could happen."

Bethannie also revealed details on the comebacks of Cleo and Theresa, with Nadine Mulkerrin and Jorgie Porter back on set filming.

She said: "I have just started filming with both characters and it has been so lovely. I definitely think Cher will get along with them both as they are so loved by all the family.

"I think Cher will quickly begin to feel like they are her family too. Cher is very big on family and they are the people she cares about most.

"I think if someone did something to upset someone she cared about, then she definitely wouldn’t get along with them at all, and I think we would possibly see a whole different side to her."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6:30pm on Channel 4, with the next episode at 7pm on E4.
