Hollyoaks star Malique Thompson-Dwyer returning to soap after two years

Hollyoaks actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer will be returning after quitting two years ago as Prince McQueen, it has been reported.

The soap star, 23, left to embark on the world of reality TV - first starring in the eighteenth series of I'm A Celebrity, then Celebs Go Dating, Celeb Ex in the City and MTV's Celebs on the Farm.

He first joined Hollyoaks in 2016 as the son of Goldie McQueen (Chelsee Healey) and Hunter McQueen's (Theo Graham) twin brother.

Malique's character Prince was left devastated over the shock death of his wife Lily McQueen from sepsis and left to travel the world.

A source told The Sun : "Prince’s return is going to be exciting and a must-see for fans.

“He left heartbroken and grieving over Lily but when he returns he’s made his peace with what happens and he’s moved on."

They added that Prince would "get suck into the thick of things" when he comes back.

Malique previously hinted that he would be returning to the show after his final heartbreaking scenes.

Prince ended up breaking the news to his mum Goldie that he would be leaving, with his final episode seeing the McQueens throw him a party to celebrate his "Prince World Tour".

After his mum walked him to the train station, the pair shared a hug as he told her: "Thank you for being the best mum ever. I know it was a full-time job."

As he said goodbye to all of hie friends, he looked round at the village for one final time and said: "I'll never forget you, Lily."

Following his exit, he head teased: "The door is open. My character is still alive so you never know!"
