Hollyoaks spoilers as Jesse's funeral takes place and Romeo and Celeste get caught out

The week has come of Jesse's funeral and with emotions high, guilt is eating away at some Hollyoaks residents.

When Courtney asks James if he is going to the funeral, James freaks out and tells Grace that he doesn't think he'll be able to hold it together, feeling responsible for Jesse's death after he found out that James and Grace had shot Mercedes.

Struggling with his guilt, James has been taking sleeping pills so waking up on the day of the funeral, he has no intention of going until Grace turns up and practically forces him there.

And as everyone gathers as Jesse's hearse arrives, a suspicious Mercedes tells James that she knows his secret, James panics that she knows he shot her.

Then later at the wake, Courtney makes a speech and when she starts blaming herself for what happened to Jesse, James blurts out that she needs to know the truth, readying to tell her that he was responsible for her husband's death.

James manages to escapes to The Dog but is tricked into having dinner with John Paul and Mercedes. Later he receives an anonymous note saying, 'I know you shot Mercedes'.

And it's not just James as Grace received a letter too, leaving them both panicking that someone knows they shot Mercedes.

Elsewhere, Mercedes and Tony reunite after what happened at the Pig Farm and she gives him some advice on how to move things on with Diane.

Taking on the advice, he asks Diane on a date and hopes that they can take things to the next level.

Later in the week, Tom spots Romeo and Celeste kissing and warns Romeo to stop for his own safety. However, the allure of Celeste is too much for Romeo to resist.
