Hollyoaks' Nikki Sanderson blasts 'disgusting' troll who called her a 's**g and w***e'

Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson has called out a "disgusting" troll who called her a "s**g and w***e".

The 37-year-old took to her Instagram to blast the vile person who sent her the messages on her social media.

She told her fans: "I wanted to say 'thank you' to everyone who reached out to me to see if I was okay. I appreciated that very much. If I was down, those messages would have hurt me and upset me...

"I mean, it's disgusting to call someone those names but I'm in a good place and I'm happy and positive and strong so when I saw them, instead of feeling hurt, I kind of felt like: go f**k yourself and have a nice day."

She went on to tell the person that "you don't know what people are going through behind closed doors".

"Messages like that can tip the balance. Be kind. Always," Nikki concluded.

Her message comes almost a year after she opened up about her "very very bad depression" in her 20s.

The Hollyoaks and ex Corrie star joined the hit soap as Sarah Platt's BFF Candice Stowe aged 15, before leaving aged 21.

She admitted that it was at around that time when her mental health began to take a toll on her.

She told the Daily Mirror : "If I go from a busy lifestyle to nothingness it’s very hard.

"It’s bad for my mental health, feeling empty, so I try to keep my mind motivated. I suffered depression in my 20s and it was a very, very, bad time."
