Hollyoaks' Jorgie Porter couldn't find anyone to speak to after quadruplets miscarriage

Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has opened up about having suffered a miscarriage with quadruplets earlier this year.

The 33-year-old revealed in an interview last week that she had miscarried a pregnancy in August, having conceived quadruplets with her boyfriend Ollie Piotrowski.

The actor has now discussed the experience further on her podcast, Loose Lips - in which she delves into relationships and other themes with her co-host Sharon Carpenter.

In the latest episode, released today, Jorgie admitted that she had been "hiding" the recent miscarriage initially as it felt "a bit raw" to discuss it openly in the immediate aftermath.

However, she now feels able to talk about it publicly and think it's "important" to open up conversation to support others.

She commented: "Nobody really tells you about miscarriage. It's not taught at schools. We're finding this things out in magazines and on [social media platforms]."

The Dancing on Ice finalist said: "When you actually live it yourself, your mind goes through so many things and questions."

Jorgie said the pregnancy with quadruplets wasn't through IVF and she said that "it's not really a common thing to happen."

She said that as a result "the whole entire journey of the pregnancy was very stressful" and that following the miscarriage, she felt there was no one she could "relate to or compare to."

She said: "I couldn't find someone who has miscarried quadruplets at that time or someone to speak to [with that experience]."

The model however said she was "very lucky" to be able to speak to friends and colleagues who have had miscarriages, describing these conversations as "such a release."

Jorgie said she underwent a "big surgery" under general anaesthesia following the miscarriage, in order to remove the pregnancy.

She added: "I had blood transfusions in case too much blood came out and [there were] all these risks." The actor said Ollie has been "super supportive" throughout it all.

Asked about her healing process, Jorgie said she was also grieving for a relative at the same time and sometimes just cries.

She added: "I have to give myself a break, I've been through a lot and I've coped with it extremely well."
