Hollyoaks fans furious as Romeo lies to Prince about Lily's final moments

Hollyoaks fans were devastated after Lily McQueen’s tragic death, as Romeo lied to her husband Prince about her final hopes and dreams.

Lily passed away from sepsis, after a wound she sustained by self-harming became infected.

The infection spread to her blood and began to damage her organs, with Lily tragically passing away before anyone could help her.

In the devastating fallout on E4 on Thursday, Romeo was arrested after going on the run with Lily before she died.

He was wanted by police for the murder of his grandfather, Mac, and Lily agreed to flee with him.

But at the train station, Lily decided not to throw her life away, with her dreams of becoming a doctor.

Not only that, but she realised it was husband Prince McQueen she wanted a future with, despite leaving him for Romeo.

Tragically, Lily didn’t know she was dying as she told Romeo of her dreams, and plans to reunite with Prince.

After Lily’s death though, Romeo told a shocking lie to Prince after he accused him of killing Lily.

As he confronted him at the police station, Romeo lied that Lily chose him and not Prince.

Prince shouted that they weren’t in love like him and Lily, only for Romeo to claim she wanted a future with him and not Prince.

Viewers fumed on Twitter for Romeo lying about Lily after her death, with one fan tweeting: “Think Romeo needs to tell Prince the truth, it might help Prince.”

Another said: “Ooh Romeo she didn't choose you  I really hope he tells Prince what Lily actually said about who she saw her future with.”

A third agreed: “Why did Romeo have to lie?!”
