Hollyoaks fans call out major property blunder as Misbah Maalik signs her home away

Hollyoaks fans were left bemused after a debt-ridden Misbah Maalik signed her home away in secret in a major property blunder.

The first-look episode of the E4 show on Tuesday night saw Misbah (Harvey Virdi) try and clear up the spiralling family debts of her nephew Shaq Quereshi (Omar Malik) at the hands of shady characters Fergus Collins and Warren Fox.

The Maalik family wanted to get out of the red and after a plan to try to sell-off antiques to fund the debts failed to get the cash, Misbah felt she had no choice but to resolve things.

So when wannabe-gangster Ferguson put pressure on for the cash, Misbah made the ill-fated decision to sign her home away and keep it secret from her family.

How did Misbah sell her home in secret? (Channel 4)

But viewers of the Channel 4 soap were left bemused by the plot, especially given the fact the character’s own son Sami is a property lawyer.

One fan wrote on Twitter : "Why would you not let Sami see the contract he's a lawyer ffs."

Another said: "The Ok, I can take Ste not running a contract past a lawyer before signing it. But Misbah?!"

Viewers were utterly confused (Channel 4)

Another pointed out: "I thought when you sell your house it has to be a bit more official than a creepy pervert just turning up to your door with a dodgy contract???"

But elsewhere in the Village, next week looks set to see viewers finally filled in on who really killed George.

John Paul was charged with the murder of boyfriend George Kiss last week, after the copper was killed outside the pub.

But his best pal Nancy is on a mission to clear his name and makes a huge breakthrough in the case before George’s killer is revealed in flash-backs of his final moments.

* Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
